KWR initiates the European project DESSIN

In 2013, the European Commission, under the FP7 programme Water Innovation Demonstration Projects, accepts a project proposal by KWR and its partners which addresses the role of ecosystems. The four-year DESSIN project can now begin to examine the key question: How can ecosystems help deal with water scarcity and pollution?

Socio-economic and environmental aspects reinforce the traditional technological assessment of innovations

In 2013, the European Commission, under the FP7 programme Water Innovation Demonstration Projects, accepts a project proposal by KWR and its partners which addresses the role of ecosystems. The four-year DESSIN project can now begin to examine the key question: How can ecosystems help deal with water scarcity and pollution?

DESSIN is about boosting innovative solutions in the water sector in the field of ecosystem services. In this novel approach socio-economic and environmental aspects reinforce the traditional technological assessment of innovations. The German IWW, KWR’s partner in ARC, is coordinating the project.
